Left Carriageway of Atul Kataria Chowk Flyover open for traffic moving from Gurugram to Delhi
The left side carriageway of the new Atul Kataria Chowk flyover has been made operational by Public Works Department for traffic heading from Gurugram to Delhi, towards Kapashera. The 731-meter-long 4 lane flyover built between Gurugram bus-stand and Kapashera is slated to be fully opened to the public by mid of June. Work is also underway on the 642-meter-long 4 lane bi-directional underpass constructed from Sheetla Mata Mandir side towards Maharana Pratap Chowk. In a meeting earlier this month with the Public Works Department team & authority engineers; Chief Executive Officer, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) Sh. Sudhir Rajpal took stock of the progress on ground and has directed for quick completion of all ongoing tasks at the earliest. This is a deposit project of GMDA being executed by PWD. “The Atul Kataria Chowk is a central & iconic junction in the city and its redevelopment will be instrumental in eradicating traffic hazards at the chowk. The much-awaited flyover & underpass will soon be open to Gurugram citizens, wherein commuters will experience free flowing traffic and quicker reaching time to their destination,” said GMDA Chief Sh. Sudhir Rajpal. The flyover & underpass once open to the commuters will ease traffic congestion and streamline traffic flow. It will benefit all residents travelling towards Gurugram’s major destinations such as Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon Railway Station & Bus Stand, Kapashera border, Sheetla Mata Temple, Signature Towers as well as the various sectors around the junction which houses key residential and commercial locations in the city.
